I spend a lot of time outdoors, walking my dogs or reporting at shows. When the weather is hot my dogs struggle with the heat, so up until recently I have had to leave them at home more often. That was until I discovered the AeroChill Dog Coats, which have changed our lives. You simply soak the coat in water for five minutes, wring out the excess fluid and dry the underneath if you don’t want a wet dog. When you put it on your dog, it provides up to 10 hours of cooling by drawing heat away from the dog’s body using HyperKewl technology. At Badminton Horse Trials back in May, my dogs were panting by lunchtime so I put their AeroChill coats on. Within seconds, the panting had stopped and they were much more comfortable. I did get a few strange looks from people, who were wondering why I had coats on my dogs on a hot day, but once I explained they, too, thought it was a great idea. I honestly couldn’t be without these coats now. They are perfect for using after a walk or for when I am at a show. And as you can use them time and time again, they’re great value for money, too. One word of caution, though, please don’t ever leave dogs in hot cars – even if they are wearing an AeroChill Coat. Temperatures can quickly soar in vehicles, even in the shade, so leave your dog at home or take him out and about with you with his AeroChill Coat in place.
