Acceptance from British Dressage for the Helite Soft Shell Gilet!

British Dressage has confirmed the Helite Air Shell Gilet, made from a soft shell fabric and distributed by Treehouse Sporting Colours, is permitted to be worn in competition. Sports Operations Manager for British Dressage Paul Graham stated: “The Helite Air Shell Gilet and the Helite Original Jacket over a show jacket or tail coat would both be acceptable and permitted under BD rules.”

The question arose after Treehouse noticed a significant increase in dressage riders ordering air jackets on their stand at shows. Treehouse’s Director Theresa Morris commented: “I think all riders are taking safety seriously now, rather than just those who gallop and jump a lot. At the end of the day, anyone can have a fall and an air jacket gives riders peace of mind they are well protected should the worst happen.”

Dressage rider Zoe Sleigh (pictured here modelling the Helite Air Shell Gilet over the top of her tailcoat) commented: “I like the design of the Gilet and it’s great that air jackets are becoming more popular with dressage riders.”
