Hello! My name is Lydia Cooper and I am a 17 year old event rider from Worcestershire. I’ve been riding since I was 5, and always dreamed of riding round Badminton or Burghley, last year I was able to commence my career as an event rider, all thanks to my incredibly supportive mum and fabulous horse BT!

BT is an 11 year old 15 hand Connemara X Thoroughbred who loves his job, last season we competed in 6 BE’s with several double clears and a couple of top 10 placings, despite the extremely short season!

**January 2022**

My horse BT and I had an incredible time in 2021, the main highlight for me was definitely competing at the BE Under 18 Youth Championships! My first 3 day and we enjoyed every second, especially cross country day.

BT and I also qualified for the Pony Club Intermediate eventing championship, where I was absolutely over the moon to place 7th! We hadn’t even considered we might qualify let alone place!

A goal of mine for the year was to get a sub 30 dressage, something that seemed unattainable for a very long time! Nevertheless we kept working at it and finally got our 29 (hooray!) fingers crossed we can repeat it in 2022. Get those dancing shoes ready BT!

For me, 2022 is all about enjoying the ride on BT, this year put into perspective just how lucky we are to do this sport, and I look forward to many more happy days out in the sun doing what we love.

We are so grateful to Treehouse for the support and can’t wait to represent the brand again this season!

**January 2021**

This year I hope to become more consistent at BE100 level with a sub 30 dressage and make the step up to Novice when we are ready. The ultimate dream would be to compete at an international competition!

At the end of 2020, BT and I competed in the JT100 at Hartpury, taking a win and qualifying for the Champs that, due to covid, have been moved over to 2022. Nevertheless, we are remaining positive and looking forward to the season!

As a rider with scoliosis, a curvature of the spine, my Treehouse air jacket is a must when eventing, I never leave the start box without it!
