Smart Coats by Smart Grooming are a wide-blade shedding rake designed to remove heavy winter undercoats from a variety of animals with efficiency and control. Building on the principles of Smart Tails and Manes, this tool features a broader 5" head to cover more coat per pass, making spring shedding quicker while keeping the coat tidy.

Wide 5" head: Covers more coat per stroke for faster removal of thick, matted, or heavily coated fur, especially effective when transitioning from winter to spring.
Two blade grades: Available in coarse and fine grades to match coat thickness and desired finish; swap blades to suit changing coats or different animals.
Versatile compatibility: Suitable for dogs, horses, donkeys, camels, and goats, with proven effectiveness on ponies prone to heavy coats (including those with Cushing's).
Replacement blades: Replacement blades are available to switch between grades and maintain optimal performance over time.
How to use: For best results, comb the rake through the coat in the direction of hair growth; it leaves the coat tidy but does not produce a smooth clipped finish.
Seasonal performance: Using Smart Coats in the spring accelerates winter coat removal thanks to the width of the head, reducing grooming time.
Care guidance: If used continuously outside the shedding season, the tool may thin the coat by cutting; use it during shedding periods for best outcomes.
