BE launch Winter Masterclasses 2015/2016

Following on from the huge success of the inaugural British Eventing Masterclass with six time Olympian Mary King at Gleneagles in November 2014, we are delighted to announce the return of the BE Masterclasses this winter at four venues around the UK open to BE Members and non-members.

The Masterclasses are sponsored by Treehouse Sporting Colours and are presented in association with the Event Riders Association (ERA).

The expert hosts are Paul Tapner and Chris Bartle who will be taking two clinics each, with the focus of all four sessions being on improving cross country riding.

Format
Each session will be split into three sections to demonstrate the difference in technicality of cross country course at various different levels:

  • Part 1 will cover grassroots levels (BE80, BE90 and BE100)
  • Part 2 will address riders beginning or moving up to Novice level
  • Part 3 is aimed at the more experienced riders currently working towards or competing at Intermediate/2*/3* levels

Each section will include three demo riders with whom the Coaches will run through jumping exercises to demonstrate the challenges that they would expect to face in the cross country course at each level.

The two experts will also discuss how these exercises will educate and help the horses and riders to be able to cope with these challenges more confidently in future.

Editors’ notes:

We, British Eventing, are the national governing body for the sport in Great Britain. Eventing is a unique combination of all the disciplines of dressage, cross country over fixed fences and show jumping in one exciting activity. It’s a sport that engages all ages and has equal opportunities to compete. We regulate as well as schedule more than 190 events throughout Britain that cater for nearly 94,000 entries per season (Mar-Oct). British Eventing has more than 14,000 members and provides access to cater for riders from grassroots to those performing at international level. Britain’s senior squad took team silver at both the London 2012 Olympic Games and Normandy 2014 World Equestrian Games.

To deliver the sport on a national basis to the highest standard, we train hundreds of volunteers, officials, riders and technical support teams. The result is that we have successful European medal winning teams at Pony, Junior, Young Rider and Senior level.

British Eventing also launched a Training and Education arm of the business in 2012 as well as developing a Charitable Foundation in 2014. To find out more visit www.britisheventing.com/training
