British Eventing World Class rider David Doel won the Advanced section at Belton International Horse

David put on a world class display to finish just ahead of Andrew Nicholson (NZ) to win the Advanced section by just .7 of a mark. Riding Miss Caruso owned by Mrs Jane James and rider was second after the dressage on a score of 32.4, and a clear round show jumping put him in a good position to challenge for the win. The win was decided on the cross country time where David finished with just .8 of a time penalty.

David said, "the World Class training at Baydon really set my horses up well for the weekend, I am very grateful for the help I received from the World Class programme last week"

David's second horse Chap owned by Miss Gillian Jonas in this section finished 15th.

In the Intermediate section David finished in 3rd place riding Eisfee owned by Mr & Mrs James. This was a very closely fought section with just fractions of a mark covering the first three places. David said "Eisfee came to the yard late in 2014 and has great potential.  She has just upgraded to Intermediate, and we delighted with her performance.

David rides at Badminton in the first week of May where he has been invited to ride the first dressage test of the day for the 4 star event to allow the judges to get their eye in. He may well set a score which many of the competitors may wish to aspire to.
